The planning and design of an old flat for a married couple with 2 young children. The flat is 110 square meters with a large roof balcony. The focus was a functional and aesthetic place while sticking within the limits of a preplanned budget. During this project, we enlarged the roof space, whilst dividing it into a spacious living room ideal for entertaining. Belgian windows allow in the light which infiltrates into most of the space. We also added another bedroom and kitchenette for the use of guests. On the first floor an intimate living space was created along with a central kitchen. The demands of my client were as follows: A country style home with subdued coloring (floor tiles with ground lighting, parquet flooring and all the carpentry work was to be in a light color in conjunction to the use of oak wood).
